In which buildings should the sprinkler system be installed ?

It should be noted that the NFPA13 standard is the standard for installing sprinkler systems and does not talk about the need or lack of sprinklers in buildings. In other words, after it has been decided to use a sprinkler fire extinguishing system in a building, this standard specifies what requirements we must meet. Regarding which buildings need a sprinkler fire extinguishing system, one of the following items should be used for help:

Laws of insurance companies

• Local Standards
• NFPA 5000, Building Construction and Safety Code
• NFPA 101, Life Safety Code

Purpose of NFPA 13 standard:

The NFPA 13 standard was developed to express the minimum requirements for the design and installation of automatic sprinkler systems. And its purpose is to provide an acceptable level of protection of human life and property against fire within the scope of this standard.

It should be noted that the phrase "required minimums" does not mean compliance with the minimum level of protection. In fact, the necessary safety coefficients have been seen in the standard to achieve an acceptable degree of safety.
(This is while the goals of NFPA 13 R/D are different and the priority in them is only life protection).
